Recommend me a smaller watch
Discussion
Looking for something different, mechanical (handwinding is fine) but would like it to be no more that 40mm. Ideally 36mm or thereabouts.
Considering Hamilton (they do a field winding mechanical) and also the Longines Heritiage Conquest range.
What other models are worth considering?
Could stretch to around £1k at the most but ideally a couple of hundred would be better.
Thanks in advance.

Seiko 5? Small diameter and fully automatic. Love mine but not particularly bling.
Thanks - yes have one already and often wear it - SNXS73 model. Does not keep great time (not magnetised) and seems to be different speeds depending on the angle. Have tried to regulate it a few times and it's pretty hard work. Might be doing something wrong though.Would also like hacking as it's something I would like to regulate myself to improve stock accuracy.

Jura seem to have a wide range of Laco watches available. Quite a few of them are 40mm or less.

Christopher Ward Sealander 36mm might be worth a shout?

A Hamilton Jazzmaster (auto) 40mm would set you back around £500, I have the quartz version so slightly thinner profile..the long lugs on Hamilton/Longines do annoy me as I have a feminine-esq 6 inch wrist but the Jazzmaster sits well on the wrist and Ive had compliments on the dial.
A couple of other random suggestions based on models I own:
Certina Caimano automatic, I snagged mine on Watchshop last year for £230 (using voucher), absolute bargain for a streamline case with short lug to lugs that uses a ETA 2824 movement
Seiko 5 sports - likely not what you are looking for and we'll within budget...42.5mm diameter but short lug to lug means its well proportioned.
I own another Seiko 5...SNK something or the other but IMO it wears too small on my wrist, think it's a 36mm but doesn't get much time on the wrist.

I really like my C63 as an every day watch. For something that feels a bit more special I'd go Farer. Lots of choice under 40mm and £1k. https://www.christopherward.com/sports-watches/sma...

Really good value propositions.
Realistically I should sell a couple of the Farers but I do still wear them all in rotation.
