My personal experience has been pretty good having had 2 a few years back.

The Supermarine was a real hunk of a watch with the bracelet. Great lume & good timekeeping. I lost a bit when I sold it but nothing drastic.

The MB 1.5 was one I probably should have kept being a 1 of 20 LE. I made a small profit on sale, but it could have been a bit more.

I had a MB2. It was a sturdy thing, wore it every day for 5/6 years, never babied it & when I sold it on it was virtually unmarked. Bremont never quite look right on a bracelet imho, strap or NATO for me. I’d quite like another MB, I’d have a white dial with the blue barrel.

I have an MB3 and really like it. It is swapped around for a couple of other watches I own but generally go back to the MB3 as a daily as it feels so comfortable on the wrist. As mentioned above I think the MB3 in particular looks better on a strap so mine is on the leather option with a deployment clasp.

I have friends that have owned their watches and they love them. Have met one of the owners, very nice chap and tells a great story!

I notice they sell them on Mr Porter with some pretty good discounts on some of the models.

I had some problems with my MB2. It stopped winding automatically which they fixed under warranty but they did protest as "it had been dropped". That did annoy me as it is supposed to be OK to be shot out of a jet plane on an ejector seat (like complaining a Submariner being underwater a breakage - it should be able to do that). I still have it as my Mrs won't let me get rid of it but will have lost some money on it. Also, the watch that broke was already a replacement to fix a manufacturing error on the last one.

I always fancied one of the Bremont Jaguar watches but I think I'd only buy second hand for them now. They're a nice alternative to mainstream brands and I've never felt like I was going to get mugged for wearing one. That's quite an important things sometimes.

As everyone else said - the only look good on a leather or Nato strap.

I read on here donkeys years ago about what car brands each watch is similar to. I'd still agree with Jaguar for Bremont - decent enough but not super reliable, will depreciate more and trading hard on British charm but not the obvious choice.

Have been on the factory tour and it's nice what they're doing, they have their own in house movement now and some watches priced 'appropriately'.

Retained value may be reasonable on some very specific models but it's not something I pay any attention to to be honest, a colleague went on the tour with me and had that opinion, and has at least one MB I think it is.

Personally I just sort of don't like what they look like, quite like the idea of one as it's "local" of sorts, so I'll keep an eye on what they release. Contrary to the 'strap only' above, this somewhat caught my eye but ultimately don't quite like the case shape / dial

I've done the factory tour as well. I really like their cases but don't own anything from them yet.

As opposed to pretending to launch an in-house movement, when it’s actually a pretty old one with a bit of customisation done to it?

For some reason, that ground my gears. They make some good looking watches and by all accounts are nicely made, but they are rather ‘marketing heavy’ in terms of their heritage and branding.

Would still quite like a U2 in blue though. smile

I've never really paid much attention to Bremont mainly due to pricing, always felt they were overpriced and tended to group them with Bell & Ross.

After years of buying various styles of watch, I've realised that Military / Field / Tool inspired watches are my thing.

Still not a fan of the prices brand new but a couple of the models have caught my eye, the Broadsword and S501 in particular.

Any thoughts on how how Bremont and Bell & Ross compare?

We did the factory tour last year and it was quite impressive especially with the modifications they are applying to the bought in movement.

I tried to but a limited edition watch they did with Bamford but missed out unfortunately which was a shame because it was quite different to other watches I have. I did however buy a Supermarine for my son as a wedding present and he's over the moon with it.

I have a S501, it's a pretty solid chunk! I wear it a lot and after nearly five years there's not a mark on the glass or case. I bought a Solo at roughly the same time and that's now in for a service so this will probably need one soon too but it's still pretty accurate. I tried on a few Bell & Ross BR05's recently and quite like the look of them but not really comparable watches.

I’ve owned and loved an MB 2 anthracite barrel since 2014

The range seems huge now and nothing that I want either!

The P51 is something I really would want though.

I came across the S501 after the Broadsword...as much as the dial is of the diver/sub derivative there is something unique about it. Unfortunately I have skinny wrists ( circa 6 inch flat) so don't know if I could pull off a S501 but need to try have a look at one in the flesh.
Im not a huge fan of the B&R BR05 but the BrV 92 vintage steel caught my eye especially with gilt indices on a rubber strap.

I've just checked, I have a 7" wrist & yes it is a bit big, but try one on and see what you think. The S301 looks very similar but with a more sensible 40mm diameter. I think the only other changes are, the S501 has the crown at the 2 o'clock position rather than 3 and also The S501 has a display back.

The BR05 thing was just me wondering what a pauper can buy to fulfil his Nautilus dream hehe

I got a new Bremont for christmas from my partner. Went to AMJ who had a number in stock, I like the flat metal on the outside of the dial particularly. Not so keen on the leather strap, although I guess it might wear in given time or I might change it onto a rubber strap.

I know that for a bit extra I could have got an Omega or something but tbh I like the style of the Bremont (but hey I also want a Bell and Ross... )

Thumbs-up from me especially the Sunburst grey(??) dial and I am a fan of the indices format using the 12/9/6 combo though I also love field watches with clear and crisp numbers hence the 'need' for multiple watches smile

I've had my Bremont Solo for 7 or 8 years, may even be 9 years. Black with white numbers & white stitching on the black leather strap. It is very easy to read, even at an angle. The crystal clarity is great in other words.

I've always been happy with it & recently had a factory service for a reasonable £375.

Why not support British jobs with a great product ?

I've had an ALT-1C for 6+ years- I did get a particularly good deal on it at the time, so if I had to sell, I doubt I'd lose money. Overall, very pleased with the quality and timekeeping- the case is particularly hard wearing and very nicely finished; it is unmarked still after all this time. It's not my daily watch though. You read a lot of criticism about Bremont and its marketing, which I feel is slightly unjust.

Anyway, I like 'em, it's something different on the wrist and generally gets a lot of positive comments.
