Everyday watch choice

Kazam!
All watches cost the same so have no value, you can only have one watch to use in all ocassions.
If you get a gold blingmaster it has no more flex value than a Casio but is something you are stuck wearing every day (arm gym).
What watch would you choose?

Garmin Instinct.
If off out for a special occassion I'll put something nicer on but that happens less and less these days. When I do that I wear my grandfather's watch 99 times out of a hundred, then the other 1 time my 'flash' watch.
A good choice - but no such thing as an alternative flash watch so you are stuck wearing the Garmin all the time.If off out for a special occassion I'll put something nicer on but that happens less and less these days. My Breitling Aerospace on a rubber strap did a great do-anything job for a long time (before it was removed from duty because of sharp edges and baby raising incompatibility). Smart enough to be smart, fancy enough to feel special. Not too obvious to attract unwanted attention. Accurate, versatile, multi-time zones, chrono. Worked for me.

Close second would be my Seiko NATO pilot watch. Similar level of versatility to the Breitling, but with the added benefit of actually being useable in cockpit.

Snap, it's been my every day watch for 26 years now. I still use the timer most days and love the sweep function when changing time zones.

Good question and an interesting thread.
Right, so cost is irrelevant? But whatever I choose needs to be ok for my everyday needs, (manual labour). It’s probably best not to go for something too flashy, but yet this watch choice would need to be able to fit into both dressing up, (formal), and dressing down, (at work)?
I don’t currently own one, but I think an automatic Omega Seamaster on a NATO strap would probably fit the bill.

My stolen Seiko Blumo bought from Seiya Japan on a Crafter Blue rubber strap.
It was my go to watch for many activities - I even (wait for it) dived with it in Croatia. Robust, super comfortable and did all I ever needed from it. Still haven’t worked out what to replace it with - maybe a U1.

Out of current collection, would probably be the ETA Black Bay. Robust for every day and still fits under the cuff for more formal times (just).
If I can chose any watch then it would be a 36mm Rolex Explorer 1. Just as robust as the Black Bay for every day but with the added bonus of being able to look formal / dressy enough for most occasions by swapping the bracelet for a nice leather strap.
