I was over at my mums house today, decided to have a rummage as I was sure I had at least one old watch still there. Turns out I had three vintage Casios from the mid to late 90s.

Bearing in mind I'd not touched these for 20+ years, batteries died before that. Got the case backs off and each had a different battery.

Managed to pick up one of each battery from the local hardware store. Low and behold all three still work! Still not figured out how to set the touch screen one though! haha

I've put the CMD-40 on a nato strap for now but have ordered a genuine Casio that should fit.

Had a spare F91 strap where I put that on another nato so the touch screen is catered for too.

Overall a really good result, mostly on the remote control watch as I loved that when I was at school. Seems they're worth a few quid now too!

I mean it certainly used to. It had a load of pre set signals. I remember you'd be able to use the red power button, press it and then again so it would move onto the next signal. When the TV went off, you were on the right pre-set.

This model could learn signals from remote controls too so I suppose I could do that with it.

I'm assuming the remote control part still works, I will test it and see if it works with a modern Samsung TV haha

Yeah they're pretty cool, especially the remote. The other two are a bit tired and the screen isn't the sharpest on the touch screen but the Futura is completely usable.

That's exactly it with digital Casios, not to be taken too seriously and most of them aren't expensive. For the sake of about £15s worth of batteries and straps, I've got these old things back to life.

My penchant for buying straps I might need paid off as found I had a metal strap that fits. It'd be nice if it was slightly flared at the lugs but does the job.

A decent result! You can’t beat a bit of horological nostalgia. The last watch on the mesh strap Looks very Tron-esque.

Yeah I'm very happy they all worked. Although not the original design, I have a genuine Casio band on the remote watch now.

Fits in nicely now. I need a third watch box!
