I've just been paid and I've been to the pub.

I'm now very tempted to pull the trigger hurl on an MHD of some description.

They tick numerous boxes - quirky British brand, not quartz, car connection, if you know you know.

Come on PH, convince me otherwise, because if I sober up and don't buy one I'll hang on for a Christopher Ward.

Well, they look terrible (to me). Get a Christopher ward.

They are cool, different, designed by a genuine car designer and great value for moneysmile

Can't do that - they're great watches, if you fancy one, do it!
If you're not sure which one & you're willing to make the trip to Cheltenham, make an appointment to meet Matthew and let him talk you through the range

They look ghastly I’m afraid.

I think they look great, and for the price why not?

Never been a fan of CW's watches. Generic looking stuff with dodgy branding IMHO, although the Bel Canto is very cool.

I quite like the SC, although I think CW is a step up.

Wow, MHDs seem a bit Marmite! Thanks for the input beer

Bit of background - I've always liked clocks and watches. One of my earliest memories is of being entranced by the clocks gallery in the British Museum.

After many decades of there being a lot of month at the end of the money, through hard work, professional qualifications, taking calculated risks and luck I'm now in the position of having reversed that situation and I'm thinking of indulging myself. Not to the several grands worth spend but certainly the £500 to £1000 level.

The more recent MHDs have caught my eye but they are a bit chunky and I've got narrow wrists.

I've booked a day at Goodwood FOS and am hoping they take a stand there, although I've no idea if it's likely.

I'm also thinking of booking time at the CW showroom to look at them in the metal.

So, no decision until the summer, by which time I might have changed my mind again.

What I really want is the most basic IWC Portofino but can't justify it.

Buy a Farer.

They have just launched a range of smaller versions of their core range which might suit the smaller wrist.

Whilst I like the theory and motivations behind MHD, I just cannot make myself like any of his watches personally.

I've really liked most MHD's. Not that normal boring watch regurgutate design
