Omega Speedmaster Racing or Tudor Black Bay Chrono?
Discussion
Guys, I know the two don't really compare other than both being white dial chrono's of similar size but I love the look of them both.
Question is, would you pay the premium for the Omega or is the Tudor the better buy given that it is nearly half the price & looks just as good as the Omega?

I have the BB Chrono in white dial and also a couple of Omega (but not the direct comparison one, a SMP300 and a BroadArrow).
Tudor at the moment is great value in comparison to Omega, however how many people buy premium watches on value for money?
The Omega is also 2mm bigger than the BB Chrono, so that for me would be a deciding factor more than the cost. They may look the same in photos but 2mm is a big difference on the wrist. Best get to a store and try them out.
If your heart hankers for the Omega, then even if you get the great BB Chrono (in value and asthetics), you will always be doubting whether you made the correct decision.
It's a tough call but the more expensive option is usually the only one that can fill the void permemantly.

I thought the Omega would suit my gorrilla wrist better being that little bit bigger (my dailly is a 44mm pam luminor) but having seen this video I really don't think there is much in the size visually. The Omega is also 2mm bigger than the BB Chrono, so that for me would be a deciding factor more than the cost. I'm off to the Trafford Centre in a minute, the Omega boutique has one in stock for me to try & Beaverbrooks have got a reverse panda bb chrono on a leather strap I can have a look at for size & they have stock of the panda on bracelet availible to buy online.
Hopefully once I've seen both in the metal it will make my decision a little easier?

so........
I bought the Omega
I tried on a BB Chrono in the Goldsmiths/Tudor shop but they only had the black dial gold & steel, they did say I could have the panda on next day delivery so no waiting.
Overall the Tudor is a lovely watch, it looked & felt great on my wrist, it is clearly a very well made high quality product but there are a couple of small things that niggled me.
I'm not a fan of the fake rivets on the bracelet & although it feels very good & well made, to me it looks a little flimsy, also, there is no micro adjustment on the clasp which I know will bug me in the summer as I do get a bit of wrist swell on hot days.
I wasn't too keen on the sales guy either so that also put me off.
I also paid a visit to the Breitling Boutique & tried on the new Super Chronomat B01. The sales guy was nice in there, not pushy, really approachable & bought out a few watches for me to try but, despite it being a good looking watch the Breitling wasn't floating my boat, I had pretty much decided I wanted a white dial.
From the moment I set foot in Beaverbrooks/Omega Boutique the whole experience was fantastic. I was appraoched by a young lad, Liam, who was polite & friendly, he sat me & the wife down, offered us drinks & then went off to get the Speedmaster & a BB chrono (black & gold again but panda was availible next day).
Once I had them side by side there wasn't really any comparison, the BB is lovely but the Omega is that much nicer, I love the display caseback, the movement is a thing of beauty, so well decorated, photo's really don't do it or the watch any justice.
The bracelet is super comfortable, feels great on the wrist & fits perfectly.
Watch aside, the Omega box & packaging is also next level compared to what you get with the Tudor, I know this isn't important to many people but I think when you're spending a lot of money on luxury goods, that luxury should be reflected in the packaging.
I have to praise Liam, Sam & James from the Omega Boutique in the Trafford Centre for their fantastic hospitality from start to finish, I would recommend them to anyone looking buy an Omega. Not only did I get the watch but they also threw in some free swag, namely a Wolf watch winder, some Omega branded watch gloves & bottle of Omega branded Bollinger!
Overall a great experience.

Cheers.. sorry for all the questions but what wrist size are you? Just wondering if I should make the trek to my nearest boutique
No problem, I'm not sure what size my wrist is but they only removed one whole link & with the micro adjuster fully closed it fits perfectly. The Goat said:

I'm with you on the riveted bracelet, not my cup of tea at all but I always had the intention of swapping it to rubber. Since buying the BB Chrono I also added a BB41 to the collection and it came on a bracelet without rivets. This bracelet will fit onto the BB chrono as well. I think a bracelet is around £500 from Tudor.I bought the Omega

Your purchase of the Omega is proof that the more expensive always wins... there is a reason why it is more expensive!

Enjoy your new watch.
