Opinions sought from those with experience.

Is it worth the (considerable) extra to get a San Martin when looking at Aliexpress watches?

There are loads of youtubers singing their praises but I do wonder how much of that is sponsered.

I'm looking at Corguet, Phylida, Phobias, Rmalti, Sugress, Parnis, Alpha, Baltany etc. They are all prices similar then there is a fair jump to San Martin.

Is there a ranking of worst to best?

I don't mind spending a bit and I'm keen to get something without a Chinese movement (other than a PT5000 which are apparently quite good). Being a tight fisted skinflint I don't want to spend more than absolutely necessary if they are all churned out the same factory (just different days).

Is the uplift price for San Martin represented in the quality?

Many thanks in advance.

Wait for the sales, their prices come down massively.

Thanks - worth waiing for then I guess with the quality being much better I presume.

Every time I look they have some kind of discount price showing. Does it get even more discounted?

Many thanks.

If you look at the clasps they sell for example they alone cost a decent chunk towards some of the ali stuff.

You do get what you pay for I think.

I bought a Steeldive and it is nice for what they charge but it’s no where near as nice as, say, my Chinese made Exciton II.
