Hi,

Recently I've been considering purchasing a second hand Speedmaster Moonwatch as I've always liked the design/story behind it. Looking at the £3.5/4k range, is it likely to hold that value for the foreseeable future? Providing its kept in good condition etc. Not looking at it from an investment point of view, just be nice to not lose too much money on it laugh

Also, has anyone bought a watch through eBay with their Authenticity Guarantee? Is it something that can be fully trusted?

An example of what I'm looking at:

Thanks

they hold their value quite well

I had one a few years and got back what i paid for it, admittedly in a strong market

It's probably the most classic and recognised Omega. if you have the classic black face plexiglass 42mm you can't go much wrong

I also had a Broad Arrow and that held it's value nicely too, In fact I preferred that one but that's another story!

Another recommendation for Dom - sourced me a really nice sapphire sandwich moonwatch a while back and has just sorted another (hesalite) for a gift for my son - great bloke to deal with and always very helpful

It is to be fully trusted.
i’ve sold using the authenticity guarantee
First rate & quick
(I sold during 80% off fees weekend too, cost about £60 on 2.2k watch)
I sent it to them, same day they authenticated it & they send to the buyer.
If buyer wasn’t happy, they send back to authenticator . To verify it’s the same watch! In the same condition.
Protection both ways.
Buyer messaged me upon receipt to say how happy he was.
I’d certainly buy or sell again using it.
Had a few messages from dealers. Low offers, would pick it up & transfer the money etc etc. All ignored, as probable scammers. Which is eliminated by the authenticity guarantee.

My experience with this is the same, very reassuring and very quick too, was expecting it to add a few days to the process, but they had it less than 24hours.

Have you tried just going to a local AD and having a chat?

It was probably about 2-3 years ago now and didn't pull the trigger by the end, but was in an AD having a chat with them and managed to get 20% off without much haggling. Think the watch might be a bit more now than it was back then, so maybe 20% wont put it into budget.

The cheapest Moonwatch is now over £6k ... recently renewed my home insurance and realised the £4.1k I paid 2 years ago would't get me a new one in the event of a claim.
