Afternoon. Before I start panicking, Longines Hydroconquest, quartz, the second hand has just started moving every 5 seconds or so, catching up with itself, sure sign it needs a new battery?

Thanks, Simon.

Just happened to me on a Certina. I bought it about 2 years ago, and the second hand started jumping last Christmas, so I changed the battery myself with some from Amazon. That battery lasted until May when I replaced it again from the same Amazon batch, and this weekend the second hand started jumping again!!
Went into a jewellers and bought a quality new battery and fitted that, now hoping it's going to last at least a year.
Thing is, the watch is accurate to +/- 10 seconds a year, and in reality, it is, but cheap batteries nullify that.
So get a quality one fitted!
