Yes, that's it. Question is, does it have any long term investment potential - I don't need to sell it right now so I could happily put it in a drawer for years or chop it in now and stick the proceeds in an interest bearing cash account.Lotobear said:

I'm not ungrateful to Mrs Loto, and she's cool with my not being keen on what I view as a high end novelty watch - kinda given 'on approval' as such.
Had she got me a standard 'Moon Watch' with a steel bracelet I may have kept it - still an option to sell and get something more functional. I like Omega as a brand and already have a vintage Seamaster, it's just the snoopy thing I'm not keen on (despite the historical story).
..a Sinn Navitimer with silver dial would suit Sir just fine.

Sounds like he had an open and honest conversation with his wife about it, in what world is that worse than pretending to like something you actually don't? And in any event she can't complain - I still work full time and she's retired and 4 years younger than me!

I know exactly where you are coming from. An expensive piece of jewellery with a cartoon character on it has never sat right with me.I actually was lucky a few years ago was was allocated a Speedy Tuesday 2. I never once wore that watch as I absolutely hated the gimmicky ultraman image that would appear under uv light. I only bought it as I was caught up in the hype at the time. Sold it within a week (and not for a profit).
