My sisters in wedding is coming up. I only really wear Casio/G-Shock or Garmin nowadays. Want something a bit smarter, but can’t afford too much. Any ideas gratefully received, cheers!

No point spending £250 on something that you do not tend to wear, especially if you cannot afford much. Consider picking up something from Ebay so you can get your money back selling it on should you not fancy keeping it.

Something like a Seiko Military watch should fit the bill for under £100. Smart, classic and something that you will have no difficulty punting on again. Or if you went for Pulsar or Citizen then even cheaper.

Or take a look on Marketplace. Probably loads of items near you that can fit the bill.

This, if you are not looking for a keeper.

Tons of lovely dress watches on the Bay for well under £100.

Honestly, just wear what you normally would - no one will think anything more or less and certainly not the bride and groom.

It’s not worth sweating over and certainly not worth spending on either.

There is an under £200 watch thread on here.

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

It's worth checking out places like AliExpress for low priced watches. Lots of homage and cheap brands on there. Some are very good, from a tenner up

MEGIR Square Dial Chronograph Blue Leather Strap Casual Sport.

Vinted is also a good alternative to eBay for a used watch.

Have fun: https://www.argos.co.uk/browse/jewellery-and-watch...tongue outrice/

Some of those Spirit watches look quite nice.

30 day return policy, too. wink (Just don't trash it during the celebrations - they have to be able to sell it.)

Just don't wear a watch for the day? Saves £250 to put towards a present/bar bill/hotel and at a wedding you rarely need to know what time it is.

Or spend a fraction of the budget for a dress watch

Tissot PRX Quartz.

As happy being worn with a suit as it is with t-shirt and shorts, fantastic build quality and will retain it's value should you decide to sell it on.

I would go for one of these:

£97 or best offer. They look a million bucks.

Or for something more sporty Seiko 5

Citizen Diver, rock solid smart looking (I think)

Orient Bambino can be had for around £100 and a pagani design homage can be had for about half that.

I absolutely love Festina watches I have 3 and they look a lot more expensive that they are

I have just returned from Kefalonia where I swam an hour in the sea each day with no problem with the watch
