Couple of dedicated collectors with the cash to do it properly

Nice to see some very very rare watches actually used.

Better than musing over the price of a Rolex too.

Enjoy.

Don’t agree with that. Of course you need a st load of cash to play in the water they are in, there are lots of dedicated enthusiasts and collectors who carve out collections just as thoughtfully within their budgets.

Did you actually watch it, he collects Gshocks as well, thanks for an interesting video OP

It’s a good watch (excuse the pun) and gave some interesting insights into the upper echelons of watch collecting and the sorts of services available to collectors of sufficiently high profile.

There was a brief back and forth about Ed's Tiffany Nautilus - was that referring to something in particular, or just that they're going for silly silly money now?

Very silly money.

If someone like that doesn’t feel safe wearing one in public, you know it’s bad!

Watched this last night, thanks for the link op. Really enjoyed it, Ed said several times that he wears all of his watches - even the Tiffany got worn the day he got it.
Thought it was interesting that he’s had rubber backed straps made for some of his collection as then he can wear on stage and not worry about sweat etc.

Not sure about the Spider-Man AP though…

Don't get the Spiderman AP whatsoever, it's hideous.

Ed comes across as a decent fella, JM is a narcissistic plant pot IMO. Always seems to steer the conversation back to himself.

He gets close enough with the Roger Smith (which was clearly the best watch on that table)

I did yes. My comment was nothing to do with his collection.

I thought it was overly long and John Mayer likes the sound of his own platitudes too much. Ed Sheeran came across very well though and I liked his attitude towards his watches.

Ah me culpa - I missed that among all the Pateks. Fair play to the gonk I guess.

That was pretty interesting - my god, John Mayer does indeed drag the conversation back to him, but if you can get past that it’s a good watch (as was said earlier).

So as a watch numpty, what would you estimate the total value (new) of all those watches in that video?

“I was only ever intending to buy one watch…” biggrin

Great that he’s kept his first watch and can chat about G shocks as well as Pateks…

Couple of million dollars at least. Probably has more cache to certain people given he is a ‘celebrity owner’.
