Doxa 'D' watch
Discussion
Hi all,
My first post in this part of the forum so please excuse my lack of any knowledge of watches.
I was moving some boxes around a few days ago and found a box containing a few watches. They looked reasonably interesting and a few of them had markings so I thought i would do a Google and see what i could find out.
The first one i picked up was something called a Doxa (never heard of it) but a bit of googling later and I discovered this article.

Now the watch I found is 'D' marked, and has a similar serial number to the one pictured in the article. Having read the article, I'm fully on board the hype train of believing that it was on the wrist of a Nazi fighter pilot that got shot down by a Spitfire etc.
So my questions are, am I to believe this article? Or is it actually some random trying to make their watch worth something by making up a cool story?
Are there any experts in this field? Should I be getting it inspected/valued etc? If so, any suggestions on a good place for this sort of thing?
Thanks for any advice! Oh, and a pic of the watch in question.
