Rolex did produce 'blank' dials - although mostly black ones.

Impossible to tell from a pic, but it looks right in that shot.

I'd say it's a fake unfortunately- the cyclops is a bit of a giveaway as the magnification is off.

If he found it in a draw, it must be a fake

Take it to your local friendly watchmaker or jeweller and ask them to open the back for you. That way you'll know for sure if it's real or fake.

Did a search on ladies digitless Rolex and some very similar ones came up and were dated around 1980. So worth getting checked out.

Can't say if it's real, mind.

From that picture I think it's worth having a proper look.

The cyclops also looks a bit high, though that could be a slight angle on the pic.

‘Stone’ dials usually didn’t have index markers, but I’ve never seen a white one (most were onyx). This could explain the weight though.

The font on the date wheel looks wrong too, but could be a very early model.

Worth looking into further, I would say.

Rolex did produce an agate dial in similar colour to the watch in question.

Intrigued to hear. It looks iffy to me, the strap looks cheap and the fit of the end links is poor.

To be fair that is true of Rolex for most of their history hehe

IME the cyclops magnifies the date significantly more than is shown in that picture. The link you gave (which is a very interesting site) shows many examples of dates through the cyclops lens, all of which look very much enlarged compared to OP's pic.

Be interesting to see what a specialist says though.

Lol yup, the fit and finish on old Rolex bracelets are incredibly shonky by today standards.
