Breitling Navitimer 2024

I don't think there are many Breitling fans here, but they're something I've always had my eye on especially the navitimer and cosmonaut (I'll get the latter eventually). Being bored I stopped at the local Breitling store to see if the 46mm would be too big for my wrist and she offered up a green dial navitimer to try on and I thought it was damn gorgeous.

Soo 1 week later this turned up....



I can't get a photo to show the colour properly - but its amazing. The green is slightly similar to my galaxy watch ultra screen, so might get away with Sista D not noticing the purchase for a while...

When I was younger I really really loved Breitling, then it went a bit cold - they felt either too busy or old fashioned (oddly now I’m quite a fan of Rado…).


However… that does look nice. I’ve always liked the italic look to the bracelets too, my fave design across the brands.

Had this Cosmonaute for nearly 20 years . . . lovely thing - dial is anthracite with a satin finish.

Beautiful watches, I do like a Breitling.

The after sales service seems really good as well in my experience, certainly a lot quicker turnaround than Omega.

Got my first Navitimer recently, but mine's its baby brother only being a 38mm!

Green is gorgeous though, I will have to get a green face watch one day.

I got mine on the leather but am not sure if I made the right choice... I should have tried the metal too.

I've always had a soft spot for Breitling because the Navitimer was the watch that got me into watches. I was a young lad and stopped at the Breitling shop window at the Mall at Millenia in Florida, mesmorised by this watch. I'm still not sure why as I'd never really being into watches before. I even tried it on before making my excuses when I saw how much they were.

Fast forward to today and I still look at reverse panda Navitimers on Watchfinder. I'll own one someday. I've got 2 watches on order as we speak so I have to convince the other half I need another one ;-)

Congrats on the watch. I'm limited to the 43mm with my wrist. A bit like the new Omega's, I'm not as struck on the colour palettes of the current models compared to the older ones, but they are great timepieces.

I looked at the leather strap but this just looked right with the metal strap - you can always get an additional strap as I see them come up on Ebay

The other thing is (like all my watches) it has a display back - always fascinated and impressed by the engineering of watches

The lass in the shop did say this was the most popular colour at the moment - (probably roughly translated to 'this is the only one we have in this colour for sale today').

The classic black and white looks great - many years ago I saw a bronze/copper dial navi that I shoud have bought at the time as I've struggled to find one the same since.

I applaud Breitling for bringing fresh colours to their watches. I was looking at their Top Time's recently too. I'm pretty boring in looking at the reverse panda's but in my defense, my newest purchases have bright coloured dials (plum and emerald green) which is a departure from my normal more boring black face watches! Maybe I'm getting more adventurous in my old age

Sinn do a beautiful version with a pale blue dial which I really fancied but I'm not convinced by the dial complications on these watches for the present day. Love the history and general tool aesthetic of them though.

I always wanted a Navitimer but last year when I went to buy one I just didn't like it on my wrist, it was a bit too flashy for me (getting old obvs) so I bought a Premier, same dial colour as yours, very understated which I like.

I bought a Navitimer 35 years ago and have worn it daily ever since, it’s got a bit scruffy so I picked up a replacement yesterday to wear as an everyday watch.


I couldn’t bring myself to go the full £000s so being in Turkey it had to be done. £135.
(I paid £500 for the last service on the real one)

Ha - No judgement here - for some reason in the past couple of weeks Ive been getting instagram adverts for my exact green watch. It even has the open back. It does look like it would pass at a glance

I like Breitling's, recently bought an Endurance 44 in orange, they do lose a lot of value pre owned which is the downside but I bought mine at 6 months old with a very big discount. It's sadly not getting much wear at the moment because I still can't tear myself away from my Apple watch most of the time. Must make the effort at the weekend to wear it.

I tried a 46mm Navitimer, but too big for my little wrists.

Went for a 41mm Top Time in green.

For sure they aren't great at hanging onto value - but just fell in love with it and not planning to sell

Yep, I have the same as you, on leather strap, fell in love with it on a cruise, under the lights in the display case. Happy to report it looks just as good out in the sun.
