Do you use your watch to time stuff?

I generally wear divers or chronos, and I do use them to time stuff all the time, mainly cooking. Do you do the same? I actually find the divers more useful as the tiny subdials on chronos can be hard to read at a glance.

I am looking at getting a regular watch as my new GADA that doesn't have a dive bezel or a chrono, and I'm worried that I'll miss the easy timing functionality. I'm torn between this and getting another diver, not sure what to do. I hate the fact I might start using my phone to time stuff ha ha.

I never used to but recently, I will use my daily (Seamaster) to time stuff.

Yep, cooking steak oddly I'll do it, as it's lots of small intervals but also good to keep track of the total time. Yes a normal timer / stopwatch would be better but I like making use of it.

Also, silly things like if I'm sitting out in the sun, I'll start the chrono as it's just an easy way to keep an eye on how long it's been.

I also used it for timing long flights just to be able to see how long it's been at a glance. Again, easy to work out by just making a note of when you took off or looking at the in flight screen...

Yes it's more about finding excuses to use it, but I'm fine with that

Not a diver or chrono......but has a great Countdown bezel that I use regularly.

Or a big watch without a strap that you can hang on the wall.

I have never used a watch to time anything.... As an aside, a GMT is my favourite complication, and I rarely travel anywhere except France these days.

Yep. Divers as i back up when diving or to to remember when i put the roast beef in etc, parking times

Chrono when when doing hobbies.
Tutima commando II does away with fiddly difficult to read sub registers as long as you can live with the size and tool watch aesthetics

This is my go to to whenever at home. I have many watches capable of timing but I just use Alexa

The only thing I use my bezel for timing is association football games when there's not a big stadium screen with a clock. Easy to see how long since kickoff without remembering when it started (esp. 2nd half).

I tried to be clever at Le Mans last year and took a cheapo Timex GMT watch and planned to use that to see at a glance how many hours left, but the bezel moved on its own accord to was useless.

I use my MoonSwatch to time my lad around the pub car park on his bike. Keeps him entertained….
