I saw the Audemars Piguet black ceramic watch (pic below) and thought it looked pretty good. Alas, it is somewhat out of budget at the moment and have to consider something a bit cheaper.

Tissot have recently the Carbon PRX which looks quite interesting from the picture. I already have a PRX so not sure whether i'd be after another in my small collection.

Are there any suggestions for other watches to consider? (preferably on the cheaper side!) Rado do a number of ceramic watches although maybe not great value for money.

If you just want a black watch, search for black DLC coated ones, much cheaper than ceramic or carbon!

What is your budget?

Bell and Ross have a few black faced/strap watch combo's and a limited edition version that I bought.

You also may be able to find a full carbon U-Boat if you can find a dealer with one left.

It could be a good call and something to look into. I would like the AP but don't think it's a sensible purchase this year!

Similar to the other poster, budget is a good shout, but there are plenty of choices especially if you look into the DLC stainless option as suggested.

Cartier Santos ADLC, IWC big pilot (ceramic), Speedmaster Dark side of the Moon, and Tudor Pelagos FXD (carbon) have all caught my eye when i was looking into adding a 'blackout' watch to the collection (though oddly I eventually/temporarily satisfied this requirement with a G-shock 2100)

Probably doesn't reach much of the criteria other than being black, integrated bracelet and cheap.

I bought a black and orange one of these recently and I must say it wears incredibly comfortably and I've had many positive comments on it so far. Non watch people seems to like the pop of colour on the orange one. I did have a stranger coming up to me and asking about the watch recently. Something I've never had with my other more expensive watches.

Bell & Ross make some of the best ceramic watches out there, the standard of finishing is up there with the best. IMHO B&R do the best integration of date windows of anyone.

At this point it's probably going to be <£5k. Ideally probably sub-£2k currently but maybe I could revise the budget in a few months time if i'm a bit more liquid.

Something cheap and cheerful like the Tissot could be good. Although am not in a rush so could wait a bit and evaluate down the line.

Not an especially helpful indication I accept!

This Tissot is a strong choice, albeit I was a bit disappointed when I saw it in store but that was just my experience.

I'd neglected to mention any of the Tudor Black Bay ceramic and carbon options as well...

Felt like a cheap kids toy I thought, just too lightweight. Much prefer the stainless models on a bracelet, my OH has the gold version and loves it despite never being one for watches.

I'm a fan of ceramic watches. I only have one and love it, an Omega Speedmaster.

While perhaps still outside budget, I'll mention Zenith as they tend to lose value from new and ceramic can make sense used as they don't scratch easily, or at all unless you are really careless.

If your up for a bit of a homage, this PRX clone is available on AliExpress for about £150 in the sale

I've had one a short while and for the money it's decent. I had purchased it with a view to trying it out before spending more on the actual Tissot but I actually prefer the hands on this version so will keep my money in my pocket!

If you dont mine buying use, the Tudor Fast Rider Black shield is a watch that is rarely seen in the wild.

I love mine and it's so understated.

I don't mind ceramic, but I find 'forged' carbon to the be OSB plywood of materials. It's just plastic resin with bits of carbon in it, or, 'fancy plastic'. hehe

I've tried a couple of carbon watches on, but they just feel too plasticky and light to be worth more than £1K, again, IMHO.

A legible Swiss chronograph. I don’t like black watches, but that’ is absolute fantastic..!

I have a PRX Carbon, I really like it as it's super light and much more of a usable thing than the steel PRX which I found to be a bit of a scratch magnet. The cabon appears to be pretty bomb proof as I've blounced it off various things without a mark.

In person it's a very interesting watch to look at and due to the nature of forged carbon each one is essentially unique. I found it a bit boring on the black strap though so sourced an orange one to jazz it up a touch:

It's the watch which is out of my watch box the most but with full appreciation everyone may not feel the same about it laugh
