Cheers, a quick skmim of those answers the primary question of whether or not they are worth buying. Seems to be the case and a good starting point for a first watch for my son.
Agreed. There's probably an element of snobbery in the 'Watch connoisseurs" club, but you don't want to be a member of that anyway.Christopher Ward have evolved so much recently that older threads are not super helpful.
The recent Loco and Bel Canto models are very innovative and punch well above their weight in terms of design, finishing and horological interest.
I don’t sense much snobbery about them in the watch community. Or at least no more than any other brand at that price point.

I bought each of my two sons a CW C60 Trident Pro (many years ago now).
Eldest son isn t particularly into watches, but still wears it for special occasions.
Youngest son has turned into a watch geek, with about a dozen watches ranging from cheap & cheerful, up to Tudor and Rolex. He still wears his CW and has also bought other CW (Trident Bronze, Bel Canto, Malvern C5, Twelve, etc)
I rate them highly, although they’ve evolved from a ‘cheap good watch’, into a ‘mid-price rather good watch’.
Quite innovative and not afraid to plough their own furrow.

I own a C65 and it does feel kinda special (to me). Very nicely put together.
I did a terrible review of it (skip to 1m 30 sec - to avoid the complete dross at the beginning). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yza_Z9EDUTc&t=...

Not a bad review and that blue is lovely! It does 'shhimmah' I did a terrible review of it (skip to 1m 30 sec - to avoid the complete dross at the beginning). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yza_Z9EDUTc&t=...

I've had a C65 vintage for about 6 years, I bought it second hand from ebay and it keeps incredibly good time - COSC levels. It also has micro-adjust on the steel bracelet which is good for a watch of that price.
Long story short - I think they're great. Nice designs, classic without being obvious homages.

I m in the camp that really disliked their original models but can t lie lately they ve churned out some interesting pieces. I quite like the moon phase one they re currently selling.
Long before I knew much about "nice" watches, I bought a C8 Mark II Pilot and, at the time, I was pleased with it......until I realised what a blatant rip-off off an IWC Pilot it was/is (dial, hands, strap, winder shape, etc). After that I always felt like I was wearing a moody IWC, so it hasn't been out of the box in years now. They did the same with one or more Bremonts iirc, although I think they're (cW) more ploughing their own furrow these days.Probably time to add it to the Watches for Sale thread!
