I'm looking to get a pilot style watch this year, but I'm stuck between these three. Thoughts?

Alpina Startimer - I don't know much about Alpina but I do like the look of this.

Farer Curtis - similar style

And the more traditional Stowa

I had been dead set on the Stowa for ages, but the other two are new releases that have turned my head.

It’s probably of absolutely no consequence to you, but the only one of those that I would consider for use in actual flying would be the first one. The others are too confusing to “glance” at.

Bit left field but this has always been a favourite of mine when it comes to Pilot watches.

Seems a well thought out design too...

I think a few people here have them?

Thanks for the suggestion, but that's too big for me, plus it's not really in the same category as those above given the movements.

Ha ha true. I'll be flying with these as much as I also take my diver down to 300m. hehe

For me I always liked the look of the Stowa Classic pilot rather than the Navigator watch. This would be my choice on a black strap partly as Stowa was one of the original manufacturers of the German pilot watches.

Indeed hehe but for a bit of balance; this is what I actually do fly with - my trusty Poljot.

Vintage or pre-owned IWC? This is a gold 1995 Mark XII, 36mm, highly regarded movement, also available in steel:

IWC was my first thought too.

Navitimer? Not really my thing tbh but quite popular.

Breitling Emergency? I like them a lot just for being functional.

Picked this up for a pretty reasonable price from Chrono 24.

The original MK XV is also a bit of a bargain I think

I’m in the market for a flieger/tool watch.

My shortlist is

Fortis F41
Oris Propilot date (41mm) but the previous model not the recently released version.

I've had my eye on Oris for a while.

Doesn't get more legible and simple than this:

Based just looking at them online the Alpina Startimer appeals to me on aesthetics and appearance over and above the others.

Or instead of the usual brands go with the oldest swiss manufacturer Dubois et fils.
