Accurist/Seiko/Lorus/Pulsar etc. are all names that seem to crop up a lot in the <£100 price bracket. Are any of them to be avoided? All I am after is something that looks to be reasonable quality, a chronograph if possible, and with a leather strap rather than a hair-removal bracelet.

Cheers.

Out of those I would only avoid Lorus, but thats just personal preference more than anything else, Lorus & Pulsar are actually companies that form part of the Seiko group.

A Seiko (whatever the name on the face) will serve you well pretty much whatever you pay for it.

Tissot do some nice stuff, they've got a chrono / leather strap for just over the ton

Had a Seiko before, it was OK. I have a Rotary somewhere but it's buggered and I fancy a change.

Good to hear none of them are lemons.

Love my solar-powered titanium-cased Citizen Eco Drive. Cost about £80 via fleabay.
