I was wondering if anybody has had dealing with the following two companies -

www.thebrandedwatchcompany.co.uk - very cheap for an IWC Pilot Chronograph 3717-04 (£2300)
www.watchfinder.co.uk - next cheapest i can find to the above (£2720)

Im afraid that the first one seems to good to be true, which is stopping me from placing an order at the moment.

I was informed that www.thebrandedwatchcompany.co.uk source their stock from the USA, which seems to reflect in their prices with the dollar being so weak at the moment.

I've called them on a couple of occasions in the last 2-3 weeks but never had a call back. frown Watches now sourced and purchased elsewhere.

brandedwatchcompany website has a 'feel' about it that reminds me of the now-defunct blitzwatches. I'm wondering if it has resurfaced so to speak...

Not sure if i'd trust a web based company, don't forget you don't get a proper warranty as the watch may have been sourced anywhere in the world, they even tell you not to disclose this to a dealer in the event that you may have a problem with the watch you've bought from them, in other words there is no comeback for them. Buy from a Dealer and negotiate a price that is almost as good as these types of comapnies, that's what I've just done today......

Just had an interesting on line chat with Lee from www.thebrandedwatchcompany.co.uk thro' their website

And have to say that I was not convinced - he claimed that all the watches they sell have full manuf international warranties - I asked about the scenario of purchasing a Tag for example in New York then it would not be covered by the Tag UK warranty and in my view he was less than convincing

Would be interested to hear any feedback either on here or via PM of your experiences with these folks

I think wanting your cake and eating it comes to mind.

Either you want a full warranty, or you want to save money - if it looks too good to be true, it probably issmile

I asked watchfinder about servicing and warranties etc, they told me, they used friendly watchmakers, who normally did manufacturers work, but did work for them in their spare time...

Not exacly what I would call a dealer service. But their watches are cheaper.

But they do issue there watches with an authorized warranty unlike some or most Internet company's.

My impression is that the watches sold by these companies come with a full IWC (international?) warranty, being sourced from authorised distis in the US, brought over here and sold on.

I spoke to Branded Watch Company last week and was also interested in the IWC chronograph at £2300. They are in Boreham Wood and had no problem in me going to pick up watch although they wanted cash first. I explained that I really wanted to see the watch first but there appears to be a high demand so they cannot get hold of stock until end of Jan 2008. Does anyone know where there is one to try before I buy?

Yup, agree, went into local Omega high street authorised Omega dealer today, and he'd said he could get to within about £50-75 of the internet prices and for a pukka UK new warrantied watch I'm happy with that......thumbup

I got an IWC from Watchfinder, visited their offices in person, got a good feel for them, nice people, genuine watch, good price and yes it does have a full international warranty.

Dollar weak??? No, my friend, the Dollar has rarely ever been SO STRONG against the Pound. This can't be the reason thebrandedwatchcompnay are getting cheap watches.

I'd avoid them myself.

Think he meant the pound was weak against the dollar!

Just when I wanted to buy as well, I really should have gone to town last year at $2-£1!
