I've been mugged this evening and they have managed to take my 16610 Submariner. Happened in Salford.
At least they didn't get the car and wallet.

Right, you need to report this to the Police. Once you have the crime number, call Rolex UK on 01322 521436 to report the watch as stolen. Rolex keep a database of lost/stolen case numbers, if the watch is ever returned for a service in the future it will be retained and the rightful owner contacted. At least they didn't get the car and wallet.

Also if the watch is offered for sale to a dealer, it should be checked as a matter of course by the dealer buying it in. This also offers potential for a return.
It's useful to note, you can always check the case number of any Rolex you are thinking of buying with Rolex to ensure it's not lost/stolen.
I know your watch is gone, but this may be useful....

A few years back a pal had his bi-metal Sub taken off him in a bar in Mcr City Centre. Two lads followed him into the gents, commented on his watch and before he knew it he had been punched hard to the head and the watch was taken off his wrist.Be careful...

It was insured. Its rarely been off my wrist in 5 years though and I'd become quite attached to it
Good, because you will (hopefully) get your money back, and and any time in the future anyone takes it in for a service, will have it confiscated, and they will be nicked.
Mine has not been off my wrist for 27 years now.............

What happens if someone buys a Rolex/similar in good faith and it turns out to be stolen, some years later?
Someone I know did just that, from a dodgy shop in London. When it first went in for a service, the boys in blue came around, (shop had been informed of the stolen watch serial number), after he managed to convinced them he wasn't actually involved in the robbery, the police politely informed they would be returning the watch to the insurers, whom had paid out on it, and was therefore belonged to them. When he asked about the 5k he had paid for it, they informed it was his problem, not theirs. On the return to London, the shop had long gone, and he was 5k out of pocket.
