Hi All,

Have finally decided to take the plunge and I'm going to get myself a Navitimer, wanted one for ages so now need to make sure I don't stitch myself up.

According to the Breitling website, only watches purchased from an authorized dealer are covered by the 2 year international warranty.

So how can all the very well discounted companies i've found on the internet offer this warranty, are they in effect second hand watches as they have purchased them from a authorized dealer??

I'm going to visit the authorised dealers that I've listed in London (Selfridges, Leslie Davis, Ernest Jones, Mappin & Webb, Watches of Switzerland) - but will any of these offer good discounts??

Many Thanks, your help would really be appreciated.

My Navitimer I bought from an authorised dealer but really I didn't need to. It has run faultlessly for 9 years with no problems and not even a service. Buy it where you find the cheapest price or take the details into your nearest authorised dealer and negotiate from there.

I very briefly owned a Breitling for Bentley of some description, which I purchased pre-owned but which had originally been bought from an AD in America and was still covered by the remainder of the 2 year warranty. It had a noisy rotor, so I took it to Breitling UK who checked the warranty card and duly sent it off to the Breilting service centre without another word. As long as it is still covered by the original warranty, you'll be fine.

Mine came from the web - tag direct - and it originally came from an AD in Malasyia.
I have had to send it back (scratched crystal), and it was done without a quibble.

You should be able to get 20% discount at any Breitling AD without even trying. Just play one dealer against another.

Yup, I got almost 10% off a 50th Anniversary Navitimer which had already been reduced by 30% at Selfridges.

How did you get on with this? I'm looking at buying a Navitimer and always assumed the price was fixed. Breitling seem to have the market tied down with their AD network.

If you want a good price on a Breitling contact Lumbers Jewellers in Leicester. Dominic is the owner and a long time friend of mine but that isn't what counts here. His name has come up many times in this forum as being very approachable and giving a good deal. They are Breitlingauthorised dealers.

Hi, I ended up buying from Ernest Jones.

I went up and down the AD's on Oxford street, and managed to get a steel bracelet navitimer with a black leather breitling strap as a spare at RRP - 15%, so i was very happy.

They seemed all very easy to play off against each other, and the whole process was completed in about 2 hours, parked and started at selfridges, they offered about 8% off right away, I'd taken a list of all AD's local to there and having visited 3 more struck a deal with Ernest.

Good luck, i'm chuffed with the watch, have swapped to black leather at the moment, and love the different looks of the 2 straps.

Just bringing this one back to the top as a thanks to the posters really.

Just got my 40th birthday present off the missus, a Superocean Chrono which we were all but going to get at sticker price £3100 till i dug this post out last week.

After reading jumped in the car and straight to Meadowhall. After toing and fro-ing between Beaverbrooks and Goldsmiths (1hrs work) we got the bugger for £2600 with a spare professional II bracelet (£370). BARGAIN!!

Thanks again guys.

Off to Stratson Aston Martin first thing monday morning see if i can get the equivelent off a vantage!! lol.

We made the obvious mistake of taking the 7yr old daughter with us. She loves Yo Sushi and is like a bloody octopus grabbing dishes of tasty treats from the carousel. Bill for the three of us for lunch was £50 of which mini godzilla ran up 36 squids worth.

Oh how i chuckled frown

Bit of a thread hijack but I've had good and ste service as well from Goldsmiths. We have two in Reading. The one selling pre owned watches is always a pleasure to deal with. The larger one in the Oracle has this snooty guy who seems to ascertain from the look of me that I can't afford anything in the window and I'd be better looking at some of the cheaper range.
