Dear All,

You may have noticed that our classifieds section now has a dedicated area in which you can advertise watches and watch bits (straps, winders etc) for sale.

The normal PH regs apply to these ads, and the normal options of Free/premium ads apply.

We have made the decision however that fake watches are not allowed on PH. I realise that there is endless debate to be had about the merits of these watches, and that they are as acceptable to some as they are abhorrent to others. However they are counterfeits and we don't wish to be involved in their sale. We'll keep an eye on them, but please feel free to report them if you see them.

It also goes without saying that watches which might be fake but do not declare themselves so are completely out of bounds, so please report anything which you feel looks suspicious just as you would with cars for sale.

Thanks all,

Stuart

I have already reported them on the website feedback forum but they are still there. Should I use the Report link on the individual adverts instead?

It was these reports which prompted the debate and decision, so they are in the process of being removed (we're a man down today, hence the delay).

In future you can use the report function on the individual ad - it is usually the quickest way of getting them down.

OK, sorry to appear pushy, I wasn't aware that a policy had to be formed - I thought that fakes had always been banned.

OK, will do. Wasn't entirely sure of the reporting procedure.

Thanks for the positive action.

Noticed quite a few fake/replica/homage watches slipping through recently. I do tend to flag them up most of the time but more and more appear on a daily basis. frown

eta - stone me, as I reported the ads, they instantly vanished !!

No, of course not. So not really a fly in the ointment at all then...
