Hi,

I have a Breitling Montbrillant Olympus (A19350). I am thinking of selling it, but didn't want to use Ebay as it seem to be full of copies and scams.

I was wondering what value these watches typcially fetch second hand (it is about 4 years old, rarely worn) and where is the best place to advertise something like this.

Is it a silly time to be selling? It was about £4K new, but I guess as with all these things they take a bit of a hit? Also it has a leather strap and I guess to make the watch like new it would need a new strap - is it worth getting one for it 1st or let the new owner decide?

Advice appreciated.

To be honest, I can't be of much use, compared to those who will be along shortly, but I would just say to leave the strap as it is. Many collectors like all things original...

Sorry I can't be of more use!

If it's any help, I recently purchased the older Olympus for a work colleague and paid £2,200 but that was new old stock (never worn) which tends to be slightly more desirable than the newer one with the black outer ring. I think you'd be looking around the same sort of price. You could try and advertise it on a couple of forums such as watchuseek.com or breitlingsource.com

Hope that helps.

Stef

P.S A new leather strap will set you back around £80-£100 with/without the buckle.

Your watch is valued around £2k, not worth selling in my opinion, plus the market is not in good shape.
Keep it for a while and see what happens, for sure it won't loose much more money.
Thanks,
Andrew
