Speedy - Alaska Challenge Ltd Edition!

Any of you guys seen this watch? 1970 examples avaiable and seem to be selling quite quickly, but wow, it's horrible... White face, white strap, huge red donut of an outer case.....

I actually really like it. I admit that i wouldn't wear it very often but i think it is seriously cool. I love being able to tell a story about the things i own and what a story that watch holds behind it.

I think that it is a very interesting piece actually, and certainly better than a lot of the speedie limited editions, some of which are a bit cynical IMHO. I haven't seen pictures of it on the white strap before, but it does come with a metal strap as well, so can be worn as a normal speedie pro.

If I had the money and were so inclined, I would collect some of the more worthwhile ltd editions (Snoopy etc) and this watch would be part of it.

Errrrr, not saying I like it but I do know of an Omega AD who is selling a new one in their window, IIRC it was about 2 - 3K. Why the steep price on eBay?

I know of one for sale at 3.5K, well thats the asking price. I have half considered it as I do think they are quite cool and has been said much better than some of speadie editions. But 3.5K is pretty expensive...!
