Sorry, no model nos. at the moment, but I am currently looking at two watches.

A Tissot chrono and a Citizen Chrono, both largely similar in style, and roughly similar in price.

Any strong feelings about one brand or the other? This is just to be a replacement daily wearing watch that I can not be overly concerned about. I'll update with model nos. and pics when I find them.

Tissot seem worth a look, I'm actually hunting for one of their motoGP watches at the minute. All reports point to them being nothing special mechanism wise (they are swatches after all) but they'll last.

I also quite like the look of them.

Seiko are worth a mention at the lower end of the market too, the kinetic range has proved faultless for me. I wear a couple of hundred quid steel bracelet one for work, no fancy features or anything, but it's had a very very hard life being submerged in various types of oil, sea water, sewage and god knows what else on a daily basis and it's never skipped a beat.

with either a metal or leather band

Both nothing special, but just an everyday watch that I can both wear to the pub and to work. But really leaning towards the tissot at the mo

Is the Citizen an eco-drive?

I'd opt for Citizen. I have read about reliability issues with Tissot. Might be just the T-touch, though.

Just the early Touch models. No issues with the rest of the range.

Big Citizen fan here, but the Tissot is the better looking of those two.

As usual the UK is cheaper

Do you hear that? The UK is cheaper. It is not the expensive cesspit you all seem to think it is.

If you're OK with quartz, and you really can't decide between the Tissot and the Citizen, have a look at a Chris Ward C4 Peregrine.
