I've just bought a new Seiko SKX007 divers watch off Ebay, uk seller with 100% feedback who has sold quite a few decent watches.

It arrived today and whilst the watch is nice and heavy the strap feels lightweight and cheap.

Is this 'how they are' ?

My old watch was a Citizen diver and the strap feels much better made.

Hence I'm wondering if Seiko make crappy straps or if the watch is fake.

Anyone got one ?

Having googled I'm 99% sure the watch is genuine but there isn't much info on the straps.

Basically if you own one does the strap feel / sound like an alloy ?

Thanks

Don't try on a Rolex Sub or the old Sea Dweller then! First impressions of the strap are usualy very disppointing. That said, works perfectly.

Funny you should mention that...

When I was younger I bought a Rolex Sub fake from Thailand...

A friend came around with a genuine one and mine looked and felt better made.

Having spent the morning Googling it seems I have a jubilee bracelet and my Citizen had an Oyster and that jubilee's tend to feel light.

Looks like I worried about nothing.

My Seiko Flightmaster strap is very poor I think. I'm just going to change it for a rubber version.

Try taking a link out of a Monster strap, stupid design.

The 'Jubilee' type bracelets arent brilliant. Conversely the 'Oyster' type bracelets feel a lot more substantial; suit the watch better and they still incorporate an extension.

LOL - I thought the same thing after reading the OPs first post!

My Seiko Oyster style bracelet feels far more substantial than my Submariner bracelet!

They both do the job just fine though!
