Hi All,

I'm after my first pre-owned watch !

I don't want to go too mad....but am after a Omega Seamaster with a steel braclet and orange or yellow face.

Now there are lots of these on Ebay from the 1970's for approx £220-250.

The thing is most of them are from India or Thailand ! I know the feedback is great but I think I would prefer a UK seller ?

Any UK websites you guys can recommend ?

I quite like the look of these older Omegas, very classy IMO. However, the ones I have seen for sale in the UK etc seem to go for double the money of the overseas sales on the bay. Am looking to get one this year, so would be interested in opinions too.

Keep trying ebay, if you know what you're looking at stick to proven UK sellers. There are some good guys on there.....sometimes.

I have two dynamics, 1 with race track marking's and the other blue/silver dial, the blue silver was bought from India and arrived fine, all serviced i had a new genuine lens fitted as the plastic ones dont fit nice, great watch's. if you buy from India make a silly offer i paid £175 from memory including shipping.
nice one here day/date http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STUNNING-VINTAGE-OMEGA-DYNAM...

Id advise you to avoid the watches with any third world connection and avoid anything with a refinished dial too.

Id add that you should regularly trawl through eBay(.co.uk) and watch every old Omega. Youll soon get a good idea of what sells for what, you can then take it from there. Some poor watches sell for strong money and some excellent watches sell cheap: if you bide your time youl get a nice watch for sensible money.

Gold Dynamics always sell for less for some reason: this ones not bad, although its a very basic Cal601. The black ones very nice though and itd go well with my Cal1012 blue-silver-blue... Shame about the third world connection.....

Bought a very nice blue faced seamaster of E Bay from India- £150 very pleased, no trouble at all keeps good time. These are good quality watches. Bought another off E Bay again, from a German company that regulary sells on line, £295 but a fully re-furbished watch- looks as new, you get what you pay for. Recommend 1960 - 1970 seamasters, good value, nice quality.
