Grand Manufacture - Visit

Hi
I'm planning a road trip holiday later this year and thinking of visiting a couple of the grand watch manufacturers en-route. A definite stop would be Le Sentier to visit JLC.
I would probably want to stay on the west side of Switzerland as I have a base in the French Alps (so this may discount the wonderful looking new IWC museum); has anybody done something similar and can advise who / where / what.
Any advice / info would be appreciated.
