Birthday coming up soon and I have up to 2k to spend on a watch.

Obvious choice is omega planet ocean, just wondering if anyone had any other suggestions?

The watch doesn't have to be strictly new, thought a second hand one would have to be fairly new (1-2 years old), are there any rolex's that come in at under 2k worth having?

Also looking at the branded watch company, they seem to be a few hundred cheaper for the planet ocean than most places, are they recommended on here?

Thanks.

My own preference (but you'll probably get little else)...

IWC Pilot Chrono. A little over your stated budget, but times are hard and you can haggle.

I wouldn't turn down an Omega, either, if they float your boat.

Do your homework on that lot VERY carefully before parting with your cash.

You could save yourself some money and buy this......

...it's a Sinn 657 Pilots' watch on a Silicon Rubber strap ( also available with other straps). It's plain and simple, styled like an aircraft's timepiece, and if you want to dive it's water-resistant down to 90 mts ( 10 ATM).

Swear by Bvlgari - or a top end Rado as they're very comfortable to wear and not chunky or heavybiggrin

+1

The fact that they're not an AD for any of the brands they sell means that you're flipping a coin as to whether you're getting an active warranty on their new watches.

I've been looking at that sort of price range for a while and some of the IWC's are really nie so are the omegas. What are peoples thoughts on maurice lacroix pieces? I like the look of them. You may also be able to get a cartier pasha for that sort of money.

Now we're talking! I love the Anonimos.

Agree too with those urging caution before parting with money dealing with Grey market watch suppliers. The weak Pound will have hot these guys and thier business model hard so I won't be surprised if some of them go under in the coming months. You don't want to have paid you money and be waiting for delivery when that happens.

Joking...why??confused
Personally I just don't get the whole Rolex crap - the trouble is every chav who's been overseas has purchased a $40 knock off because that's the only watch brand name that they know and so the real ones have lost the genuine appeal for me - I prefer the Rado Ceramic(for under 2K) as they're a great, hardy, well built watch and subtle. The Bvlgari because they have been making some the worlds most exclusive jewellery for years and the watches are not only very well constructed, but also beautifully designed IMOthumbup
