I prefer the looks of the CW. They seem to get good reviews on here aswell.

Can't really comment from a technical point, though.

I have the PRC200 and it is a very good everyday watch. I went for the black rear face and leather strap (much nicer smile) It looks and feels a lot more than a £200+ watch!

CW for me.... don't actually have one in my collection (yet), but the only watch I have ever sold was a Tissot. Enough said...

If you want to buy a CW, I'd wait a while as QC seemed to have gone out of the window in the Xmas rush. They are busy at the moment with their nearly new sale - so few weeks and all should be normal.

As a comment, whichever one you buy I'd go for the black face. Much easier to read at night or in poor light

I've had a Tissot Quickster Quartz chronograph for about 10 years, (probably almost exactly the same internals as the PRC200) and it has been a very good watch. Haven't had a CW, but most of the designs don't do it for me and I've heard things on some watch specific forums that put me off.

what sorts of things? I have been looking at a couple of CW watches as a possible replacement for my ~20 year old Timex Titanium. I expect my next watch to last as long. smile

Check out some of the threads on www.tz-uk.com. Leadtimes and quality has been mentioned a few times. It is a good site for watch info.

I have a CW C4 which I got a year or so ago. Its a nice watch and well made etc but I don't think I have worn it for 3-4 months now as I have other watches I like better. I also think CW have taken their eyes off the ball and have just started to ape other designs rather than produce something different. The early watches had their own identity, the later and new designs just look like copies of other watches which isnt my bag.

Of the two the OP posted I would go with the tissot as it looks a bit different. I would have said the CW would have been the better quality wise but I have seen some of the recent comments and I'm not so sure now.

Thanks guys. given the comments about CW quality control slipping recently I will probably hold off for now.

Took the plunge and bought my CW C7 on 19th Dec. It arrived on 23rd - so very promt service given the time of year. Quality of the watch is first class IMHO, given the cost £215. Against my more expensive Omega (which is being surviced at the mo) it stacks up very well. I'm a happy customer :-)

Re the CW quality issues, just wanted to add my two penneth.

I decided to take the plunge with a C4, and ordered it on the 2nd of January. Obviously, they were snowed under with orders from the NN sale and it took a while to actually get mine out to me. But it came on Friday and I'm absolutely over the moon with it.

I'm glad to say it has none of the issues I was told to expect, such as Chrono hands not lining up and what not. But it looks really classy, the strap's even quite decent, and as my first "proper" watch I'm delighted.

Plus they do have that 60:60 guarantee thing, so if it's a duffer just send it back with a note to the effect that "Erm, this watch is a duffer".

CW for me...i recently purchased both a C2 Lido and C6 Diver pro both superb quality pieces and offer in my eyes excellent value for money...they sit nicely within my small collection beside some of the `big boys` and arent overshadowed one bit. I was a little sceptical not being able to view and actually try on prior to purchasing but the 60 day quibble free return policy is a no brainer in my eyes. Yes they are busy but a couple of chase up emails saw the watches arrive a little quicker im sure.

VERY happy with my CW. No issues with the quality of the watch or any concerns over quality control whatsoever.

The fact that mine came with a personally addressed and signed letter from Chris himself, and that I have exchanged a number of personal e-mails with him since my purchase, leaves me with no doubt as to the level of service you'd receive if you weren't happy with your purchase in any way.

That's what's promised on the site.

I got a P.P'd letter. What's the point if they do that?

Send him an e-mail then, and have a chat with him about it!! wink

The point I was trying to make, was that if you have any concerns, you can go straight to the owners of the company. Rather than deal with the Saturday girl at your local jewellers if you buy from one of the 'big' brands...

At the end of the day, buy the watch you like! Ultimately that's the most important thing! biggrin

I think that overall CW are a good company, it's just that my order failed on many levels. All were eventually resolved (I returned it, and got a full refund), but it wasn't what I had expected given the high levels of praise on here.

I'd go with the Tissot.

More history to it.
