What watch for £500?
Discussion
Thought I'd start a thread of my own! I'm looking for a new watch, no real reason other than wanting a new watch (nothing wrong with that eh!)
I've got a couple of cheapy seiko auto's and a leather strap citizen but I want something a little different!
Budget of roughly £500, and I want something a little different from the ordinary watch brands.
Couple of nice chris ward watches I've seen, and a few others I've got from here that I've forgotten the names of. Don't mind if it's bracelet or leather or whatever, just trying to see what else there is around
Cheers

Stowa Marine at 500 Euros is a fine looking watch.

Cheers mate, someone posted a pic of theirs recently. Very nice!http://stowa.de/shop/cgi-bin/lshop.cgi?action=show...
Will look into them
Would go for the Sinn suggestion also and this is the place to get them -
http://www.chronomaster.co.uk
Neil is the only authorised Sinn dealer in the UK. Also, whilst you are there have a look at the Fortis section, some nice watches in there for around your budget. Also, whilst you're there, if you don't mind used - check out the new arrivals section.
Would also have a look at Glycine which I have owned and loved in the past -
www.jurawatches.co.uk
One last suggestion - Hamilton which certain larger branches of Ernest Jones stocks some of the range, but can get them on the interweb for a lot less, but the shop is a good place to go and try them on.
There is a lot of choice for that budget, and I will be getting a Sinn 556 next month as have been after one for a while now.
Good luck in your search

Not to keen on the sinn watches myself, and Hamilton were the other one's i quite fancied. Will probably have a look in EJ's tomorrow and take a closer look at some
Decided last night to take the bracelet off my seiko divers watch and put it onto my citizen moonphase ( normally on black leather ), it looks like a totally new watch, so will wear that for the time being until i can find the right watch!
Second hand Oris. They have a nice range of divers, chronographs and dress watches.
Unfortunately the most of the ones on chronomaster are sold. There another site called chrono 24, haven't had any experience with it though

For a bit more you could get a Sinn.
Fair point, but imo the marine is a nicer looking watch than the 556.I'd love a copper face 356, but blows the £500 budget somewhat!
You know it makes sense...why settle for less

So thats where I have been going wrong all these years. My taste in watches
I was only laughing at the reply by the way, not the suggestion!
As for the watches, still not sure what I want!
I love the stowa marines, but there seems to be a huge waiting list at the moment - so I may wait and see ( see what happens with the exchange rate too! )
The other option at the moment is a Christopher Ward watch ( or two! )
There's a couple of malvern chrono's i fancy

Not sure if i'd get bored of the black though
There's plenty of variations of the same style that are very nice too:
http://www.christopherward.co.uk/pd2_MENS_C3-CHRON...
Black face with brown leather
http://www.christopherward.co.uk/pd2_MENS_C3-CHRON...
White face with black leather
They all look completely different even though it's basically the same watch.
In fact, I think I may have decided I want one of them now! Just have to decide which one/combination
