I was out for lunch yesterday and spotted a colleague wearing a vintage Omega. Apparently it was a "Big Blue".

Just wondered how rare these are and what kind of money they fetch?

Looked amazing IMHO.

It's a beautiful piece and was truly enormous for its time.

How times have changed; it's 1.5mm smaller than my PO, which is smaller again than the biggest watch Omega now do, which is the Railmaster XXL at 46mm.

That's not a watch, its a bloody clock.

Quite frankly it looks ridiculous even on my none too small wrist.

The big blue is nice though, if a bit lively in the £ dept.

I like a big watch as much as (if not more than) the next man, but that thing is an absolute beast. 46mm isn't, as CJ suggests, so big nowadays but the profile shots on that ebay listing were more reminiscent of this thing...

Oops. The Railmaster XXL is 49.2mm, not 46.

Yeah, that's firmly into "clock" territory.

It's massive! I had not appreciated how thick it is, lovely though if you've got wrists large enough.
