Guys

Does anyone know much about Bell and Ross as watches, I've been noticing them for the past couple of weeks now and like the look of the couple below.

Yes yes I know the top 2 are Quartz movements!!

What I am trying to ask, is are they of the same quality of the likes of Omega etc, I currently own a planet ocean and love it to bits; i've been bitten by the watch bug and was looking at adding a B&R.

thanks

I love the functional look of the faces on the square B&Rs, but they are a bit too "Jim'll Fix It Badge" for me in terms of size.

For this reason my next watch will be one of these; similar face, good movement, nice brand.

The other two leave me cold I'm afraid. For watches with a quartz movement they simply aren't special enough at £900.

The Vintage 126 is one of the watches (like the IWC Aquatimer) that I keep looking at and not buying.

You'll probably get some watch "purists" coming on here to slate them soon.

But I love them, no matter their heritage, and a watch is only worth as much as your willing to pay!

Pretty unique watches until everyone started copying them (the BR series anyway).

From what I've seen of them, excellent build quality, you can't really go wrong!

i've got a BR-01 in orange which i love.

there is a phantom in paris but the ER make's it very expensive.

BR 02 is probably more sensible for wearing out and about as it's not quite so in your face.

Only B&R I'd consider personally, but as others have said, its one of those watches that I just keep looking at whilst buying others up.

Maybe one day smile

Almost pulled the trigger on a BR01-92 last summer at Jura Watches. I love the design and size (the BR01 are 46mm and simply HUGE) but I just can't accept the price for what is a basic watch with a bought in movement. Also, if you look at the used prices for them (www.watches.co.uk get them occasionally) they look like they lose a lot of cash very quickly though the Phantom models may be bit better.

I know I am not buying for investment purposes but you can dump your cash into certain Rolex, IWC or Panerai models which do have decent residuals.

For pure impact I think you'd struggle to find anything as striking as the BR-01 and 03 models and you see very few of them around (there is one dealer here in Warwickshire). Hmm, I'm starting to find them attractive again now...

Agree. I love these watches, but given that they are not in-house movements, they're probably overpriced. the -01s are pretty large. I prefer the -03s. much more reasonable in size.

I like the fact that they're big and square (I have a Monaco) but I can't get past the fact that the very visible screw heads aren't aligned.

I don't like the size but have small wrists so can appreciate bigger watches (just not buy them). But, like you, I simply can't get past the randomly angled screw heads. Hublot do it with the Big Bang as well. Just looks cheap and unfinished to me, and it'd drive my OCD side insane hehe

Love them and they are very well made. I wear mine at least 2-3 times a week and have not had any problems with it, they certainly make an impact... I got mine from TZ, the gut who bought it new decided it was too big for his wrist and only wore it to try it on. I picked it up with a hefty discount on the price. That is one thing, you do need to try one on to check if you can wear it as they are really big. Jura or selfridges are the best places to look in London.

This is mine:

Can't be doing with the 'instrument panel' watches but I had a look at one of their oil filled divers. Very nice but felt a bit lightweight on.

See if I can find a piccy.
