As I have just ordered an Omega Planet Ocean with orange bezel. 15% off which I didn't think was too bad...
Must stop doing things like this. It's ridiculous. We're in a recession and any back up money is going on this sort of thing thanks to you lot.
Should be able to go in and have it sized etc tomorrow.
Pics to come.

Very nice, think of it as you doing your bit for the economy!Must stop doing things like this. It's ridiculous. We're in a recession and any back up money is going on this sort of thing thanks to you lot.

Yes, think of the economy and think of it as something to leave for your children.
The 2109 antiques roadshow will recognise your fine taste as your descendents proudly display your watch long after you are gone. Perhaps they will even be able to read this thread about it!
Buying that watch was possibly the most noble and most unselfish thing you have ever done.
Well done!

What recession, eh chaps?!
I think that we all need to do our bit to keep the economy moving. I'm sure that Alistair Darling is applauding our valiant efforts and our willingness to take one for the team buy continuing to spend money on wristwatches in the face of economic doom. Or at least that's how I'm attempting to self-justify my latest (unplanned, unbudgeted) purchase...

Isn't this about the third or fourth recent PO buy by a denizen of this forum?
What makes the thing so damn attractive?
I have no idea, but ever since I saw yours on the 'Wrist Check' thread I've been trying to justify one for weeks! I think it is the simple styling, rather special engineering and the bold orange highlights ... It's very different, in a good way! I'm still battling against some Tag's in my head, which for less money I'd still be very happy with What makes the thing so damn attractive?
I'm going to try on some more next week!Quinny said:

Bracelet or strap?
Black leather (rubberised) strap
Hasn't arrived yet, but I'll get a few pics up when it does

If you think that there is any possibility that you will, at some point in the future, want the watch on the original bracelet, get it on the bracelet now and buy the strap afterwards. You will save about a hundred pounds by so doing.
As you can see here, the bracelet is $566. The strap and deployment clasp together come to $384 (on this page.) Prices may vary by supplier, but the differential will be about the same.
If you can change your mind and get it on the bracelet, do so.
Also, I want to see a picture of it looking absolutely horrid on the strap, so that I can dissuade myself from coughing up the folding for it!

This watch is in danger of becoming as ubiquitous as the SMPI do know plenty of people with subs and sea dwellers, GMTs and loads of aviation linked watches like Breitling Navitimers and Aerospace.

My brother still doesn't understand why I bought a Sinn over the stuff you can get in the high street jewellers.
He only likes instantly recognisable brands (Read - if he spends a grand on a watch, he wants everyone to know that)

Sinn, Stowa, Damasko will always appeal 'cause you never see anyone else wearing them! And they're well made
