What's the PH general consensus on this watch?

Not a purchase for this year, but I'm 40 next yearfrown and have taken a liking to it. TBH, I've not really been that interested in Omega's in general for some reason, but this particular watch has really grabbed me. However, I know little about it. Any views welcome.

Cheers,

It's a lovely watch. I personally prefer the purity of the original speedy pro, but it's your birthday, and your watch.

So you should choose the watch that you love. The one that makes you go 'Ooooooo', and gives you a big grin when you put it on in the morning!! biggrin

Don't rush your decision, taking your time and savouring the upcoming purchase, is all part of the enjoyment!!

I must admit, the normal speedy pro is a good looking watch. I've seen a couple of photo's on here recently - probably what's got me looking at them. I didn't realise the moonphase existed until I found one by accident. I went into the Goldsmiths recently in Shrewsbury and tried a couple of Omega's on. Thoroughly impressed, although I never tried a speedmasterfrown

Edited for beer induced piss poor spelling!

I have a speedy pro and its very comfortale. I used to have a bracelet on my old Brietling but had to change for a leather strap as it kept ripping hairs out of my wrist. The Speedy bracelet is much better, but all speedy bracelets have one achilles heel...

I've found the clasp gets scratched really easily and because of the way its cut and polished its more noticable than normal.

Still its a fab watch and I'd recommend one to anyone!!!

Hi I wear a seamaster every day and I have found that you can polish out most scratches on clasp with autochrome and a old tooth bush.

Hi
What a cracking watch !!!
Maybe I'm biased having bought my Moonphase whilst working in Singapore.
I had never seen one prior to smooching around umpteen jewellers along Orchard Road and Raffles Plaza......the rest is history smile

From that day to this I have never seen another one in any window nor on any wrist ....so special I feel smile.

Buy what you want and enjoy !!

I'd never been a Rolex fan but spent a good wodge of my hard-earned on a Milgauss and am over the moon (as it were!). I can't think of anything I'd rather have. Maybe a Patek World Timer in white gold, but that's a different proposition!...

It's your birthday, treat yourself. Follow your heart and you can't go wrong, because you'll end up with the watch *you* want, not what fashion dictates.

Spot on, you're the one that'll be looking at it every day, and you don't want to be wishing you'd bought the one you REALLY wanted rather than the one you got told to buy by some internet numpty.

Then again, I'm an internet numpty so maybe best ignored.
