Just cheap & cheerful by the look of things... Might be tempted by this if I don't get the C3 from CW before the price hike.

I like the design. Some of them are really clean and simple. And that one is a useful chronograph. Using them as stop watches really doesn't work if you're trying to work out the precise number of minutes and seconds and don't have a microscope handy. And if they're not about the precise seconds, why have the markings? "How fast did I do it in?" "20-ish minutes?" "My standard watch could have told me that..."

A colleague is into these because it's a reasonably-priced way of getting a thin watch.

I like this type of design a lot. It's a bit like my Porsche Design PAT chrono, which has the same PVD titanium bracelet style:

However I must advise caution with PVD coated titanium. The Skagen watch is considerably cheaper than the PD. However the PD 'black' titanium didn't last very long and now my watch is worthless:

So whilst the Skagen design is very nice, clean, and black PVD titanium is very cool, be aware that unless Skagen have done something special that Porsche Design didn't (i.e. something Sinn-esque, as Sinn make right-hard-bd watches) then it won't look great for long...

Skagen watches are regularly featured on QVC TV (so my other half tells me).

Couldn't find anything listed on their site... I did find this on ebay though

which is the un-PVD'd titanium version of the one above...

I duno, I was hovering over the purchase button but I'll hang fire for a bit. He's got 5 of them and there's still 3 days to run on the auction, works out under £120 with express shipping from the states.

Don't foregt to factor in import tax. You might get lucky lots are or you may have to pay around 22% extra.

The one I was looking at were around £50

edit never mind it looks like you have.

Blimey!

For 30 quid, that's not a bad-looking watch!

Umm, that one pictured isn't a chrono ... the subdials appear to be day, date and 24-hour time. But as long as you are timing an event more suited to a calendar you should be OK. smile

That's kinda what I meant. I should have used the phrase "complications" I guess. But it is the chronograph style of mini-dials.

Hi There,

Skagen has now its own UK subsidary in the UK. Please go to www.skagendesigns.co.uk

Here you will find all the information required for servicing, new straps etc. and also all the new designs including an automatic which is still only 9 mm thick.

Cheers

Which one's the automatic? The website is amusingly pointless, because it's just pictures of watches without any other information whatsoever.

I think these have been available for the past couple of years in John Lewis.
