I have a couple of grand to spend, narrowed down to two...... Please help me decide!

Breitling Superocean Heritage 46?
http://www.watches.co.uk/watch.php?wid=8018S

OR

IWC Aquatimer Automatic?
http://www.thebrandedwatchcompany.co.uk/watchdescr...

I like divers btw, but which one would you choose?

Personally, neither. I'd go for something else with that money but... if I had to choose, I'd go for the Breitling.

I wear an IWC and have owned Breitlings. But out of the two I'd take neither. I've fallen in love with this:-

I find IWC's less in-your-face than Breitlings these days. This one especially - a quiet but stylish watch. Dearer though sadly.

I hve to agree again with your selection LD, love the simplicity and prefer the classic to the new version.

I'd get the Aquatimer.

The Aquatimer is nice but it's missing something afaik, just doesn;t do it for me - the Heritage looks more distinctive and used values are tumbling, making it a conspicuous second hand bargain.

I'd go w/ the Aquatimer...if you put a gun to my head. I'd rather go with an Anonimo or a Panerai for a diver type...

were it me I too would go for the Breitling as the simplicity of the face as a whole makes it far more understated, thus nicer, in my mind. nothing against IWC, just looks complicated for no good reason.

If i were you, the IWC aquatimer 2000 in titanium is a beautiful watch and considerably lighter than the breitling. I tried both on and if it were my money, it would be the titanium aquatimer. It's beautifully engineered.

Of the 2 - Aquatimer, but personally I'm a fan of the older 3536 series.

I have a very similar watch to the IWC Aqua, its slightly different with the Yellow on the dial and numbers, was a £2500 watch but picked up in Jan sales from AD for £ 1650.

I have worn it almost everyday since despite owning many others.

I'm generally not a fan of Breitling watches - I'm not really sure I can put my finger on exactly why I am not keen, but most of them look too fancy and as if they are trying to hard in my opinion.

Personally I've had a lot of Beitlings and while some are a tad n the cusp this is surely class. I prefer the IWC but this is not like the rest.

IWC for me, but then I do wear the titanium version most days! Its a lovely watch and actually easier / more comfortable to wear than my Vintage Collection Aquatimer (even though that one looks stunning!).

I bought the superocean (with rubber strap) in the end and negotiated over £300 pound off from an authorised dealer. £2,050 to me. Im well pleased, now how much is that metal strap?

Not a Breitbling fan but that is acceptable. IWC Ok as well.

I'd also be looking at this if the budget would stretch...

The SOH46 is a stunning watch:

...but you'd have to at least try on the blue one.
