Hi. I have what is about a 10 year old Accurist chronograph, calibre OS60. Have just ordered battery but also screen is quite scratched so can it be repaired or replaced easily?where would I get a replacement screen? Don't want to spend much. Is it a dig job?

If the glass is badly scratched, take the watch to your local jewellers (H.Samuel, F.Hinds etc) and see what they can do for you in terms of replacement ... smile

My mate has a relatively new Accurist titanium chronograph watch, which has two large scratches across the surface of the glass. He inquired as to the cost of a replacement. I believe he said a service and glass replacement was £130 - About the same price as the watch was new!

Is it glass or hesalite?

I've no idea. Not sure how I tell either.

The code of the back is MB306, CAL 0S60.

It was only, about 10 years ago, a £100 or so watch. I'm happy to fix myself as it's only an old watch. I have a replacement battery coming along and I can remove the back of the watch and I think the whole unit can come out (would need to figure out how to remove the winders and face itself etc.).

If it were a case of £20 at a jewellers to sort, or getting a face for a fiver and DIY then I'll do it. Otherwise, I'll just put the new battery in and leave it at that. Just be nice to do the face as it's a good watch (never known a watch to be and stay so accurate for years!).

Try Bry at satintime.com, he is a top guy, and although he may take a couple of weeks to get it done his prices are rock bottom, and the workmanship is top notch, he's doing my camel trophy glass at the minute and i should receive it back tomorrow, tell him the MILF diver sent you wink
Thanks,
Andrew

I do know a watch maker who can make a replacement, but itl be a bit more than £20 I think. If its hesalite/acrylic then you can polish it out quite easily.

I had a very similar watch. I asked Accurist repair centre if they could. £35 all in and a battery change. I got a new bezel and also a new glass screen put in.

I loved that watch, but some nicked it about 6 months ago. frown
