Any ideas on value, found it the other day, it was my great - great - great grandfathers so is around 1820-1860 at a guess. It still works as well.

Does it look like this? obviously the face and key are different but the inscriptions are hard t see from your pics...... if so, rub ya hands together....

Exactly the same case and the movement looks exactly the same, but it doesn't have the same inscriptions as far as I can remember. How much did you get for yours?

Oh, and we have the same laptops smile

i had it value a few years ago, has been in my family for quite some time, i will pull the papers out.

Been Through the valuation, which was done in 2002 bare in mind this was with a 24 ct gold chain seen in the 'pocket watch thread'

was valued at £530 with chain.

how did you come to have the piece ?

Was clearing my mothers house, and I knew the it was around as it is my great - great - great grandfathers. Found it in it's box in a sock.

Think the watch on its own is still a good couple hundred notes to a collector, but it pretty hard trying to find history on 'Patent Lever' manufacturers. frown
