Right - so here's the challenge!

I saw a watch in here a while back - but can I find it now? - No.

So I'll do my best to describe it and would welcome any suggestions!?!?!

It was not dissimilar to a Sinn 656/756, black case and strap, black face and white numberals very simple and elegant. But the case was deeper than the Sinn and was 'ribbed' (hard to describe, think of a cylinder with channels milled out of it around the circumference).

I vaguely remember a logo on it - almost like Victorinox - but I may be confusing it with some military connection?

Anyway - any help you can give to find it would be much appreciated!

Invicta?

http://www.invictawatch.com/

I saw these in the metal in the US last year. Hideous in most cases, even though they copy a number of brands (Rolex, Hublot etc)

Nope - nothing there that looks like it - but ta for the suggestion!

It doesn't appear to be a Luminox or an MTM either

I can't understand how they can so closely copy the designs of other brands and get away with it. I know it says Invicta in it but there are blatent rip offs of the Daytona, GMT, Yachtmaster, U Boat etc. These seem specifically designed to be look-a-likes that would fool from a distance

To the Op - was it a Seiko Monster?

Fortis? IWC? They all make these kind of watches.

Nope and nope - and it's not a Monster either - it's driving me mad!!!

I've rendered out something that looks like the case - think of it with a simple military style face:

Lum-Tec?

CWC do military style watches, but can't see any pvd/black cased ones.

Sure it wasn't a "modified" watch?

Yes, the Lum-Tec B3 came to mind too. But as for others I can only suggest a laborious search backwards through the threads. No IWC looks like that but the tyres on the old cars doeek

Thanks chaps - looks like a laborious search back through the threads is on the cards frown

The only watch I can think of with the type of case is Bremont.

Leather or rubber strap?

Some Oris' might have that ribbed case? Could just be the strap that's confusing me, some of them definitely have ribbed rubber straps..
