Any other suggestions in the £50-ish price bracket? I've got small girly wrist's so it has to be quite a small face and non digital. I hate those G-Shock things so nothing like that please.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

I think there are better options - even for £50. If you can stretch a bit further I would recommend a Seiko on that budget.

Well it's small, cheap & quite a good looking design if you're into that sort of stuff.

At £50.00 - £75.00 I'd be going for a pre-owned Seiko Diver - SKX007 or SKX009 off ebay personally.

Buy well & that will get you a reliable auto movement piece. They 40mm diameter case size.

There is also a ladies version, which looks just the same, but in a smaller case size (33mm), although they are quite rare.

Something like this

Just be sure to buy from a high positive feedback seller if that's what you choose.

Had a think, what I want is a watch around the £50 mark which isnt some piece of crap. I'd like one that is made by a trusted quality maker, if possible at that budget.
What about this -

Cheers again.

I'd say that is an absolute bargain. I'm giving you five minutes before I buy it....

(Just kidding! Snap it up!)

Seiko 5s are very good for the money.

Had one since about 1985. Never serviced, used regularly, takes a beating, has three scratches and gains about 10 seconds a day.

Are they 40mm? I thought they were 42mm? If they are that's a bonus for me as I'm really taken by them for the price but my girl's wrists can't really carry off anything larger than a 40mm.

The alternative for me is an SKX031 but the movement in these isn't quite so nice.

sorry for the thread hijack

Liking the Kenneth Cole btw. clap Nice and understated.

Yeah, scratch that. They both use the same movement: 7S26 banghead

I still prefer the look of the SKX007 but don't want to look like the wristwatch version of Flava Flav.

TBH I don't know which I prefer.

In fact, I like and dislike elements of both.

Second one is an honest-to-goodness dive watch ( The word "Diver's" on the dial actually means ISO 6425 compliance, which means it should be safe in the bath) and is the one I'd go for.

Ditto.

It's not trying to look like a Rolex either

Would have thought my 1 foot deep bath should be ok for the 100m watch, though. Not that I wear watches when I wash my hands let alone go for a swim. I hate the feeling of wet metal/rubber/leather/NATO G-10 on my skin. So on that basis, which would you choose? wink

Is the SKX031 a bit Rolex? And aren't Rolexes a bit Blancpain homage? wink

Same. I like the bezel better, and I think the crown-at-4 is a good look.

Do you clean your watches? Or do you allow them to become encrusted with wrist...stuff?
