How much do you think it'd cost to replace a 1960s Omega's crystal?

That absolutely depends on which model - whether it is relatively common or very rare.

What is the watch? Can you post a pic?

ETA - I should say though that most repairers will be able to find a suitable glass to fit.

Quite common I think.

I don't think that will be much of a problem - about £30-40 max I would expect.

Frei's will be able to supply one and any watchmaker will replace it for free as part of a (£65-ish) full service.

Thanks.

I bought the above watch. My first vintage Omega.

The dial has character... That said: Ive seen a thread on TZ where an older Omega with far worse dial patina was made almost as good as new by a watchmaker in Bristol...

Is that a genuine Omega bracelet? It looks a little like a seven beads of rice, sort of: but not quite.

No idea.

Could be a fake, but is it worth even faking?

I dont think that its a beads of rice bracelet, though Ive no doubt that it is original. Id quite like it myself.

Well, I replaced the bracelet with a leather strap on a deployment buckle.

Both of mine are on original straps. If youre patient youll be able to buy original new leather straps and buckles for about £20 - £25. What are your plans for the bracelet? Its not the right bracelet for my watch, which is similar to yours, but I quite like the look of it.

That's a reasonable price to pay.

The bracelet needs the end pieces working on as they sink downwards with the sharp ends facing the wrist. At this stage, I just want to wear it. I'll get round to tweaking the end pieces some time and then put it back as it seems to suit the watch. I think the end pieces need squeezing together slightly so there's less room for "play".
