I have been given a Skagen 233XLTMB by a family friend who has replaced it, it was his daily I believe. It is in great condition though it could do with a proper clean and a new strap.

I've never heard of Skagen and a quick research doesnt come up with too much, anyone know anything about them? They any good?

I'm also not keen on the strap and so if I keep it I would probably change it to something different, I'm thinking a plain black leather strap - thoughts? Or just get the strap replaced with a standard one and sell it on?

I had a Skagen 15+ years ago. They're nice for what they are. Nicely finished quartz watches for your average person. Somewhat modern in style, not great, but not bad.

I liked it then. Not sure if I'd say that their style has changed much. Still very thin, modern stylings. Not my cup of tea these days.

I think that's a bit harsh. They're thin, dressy, minimal quartzes. Which is fine, if a little out of fashion these days.

If they did an automatic I'd be interested.

If they kept their thin profile, that would be one heck of an engineering feat.
