..and I would like to know if there is anything I can look for to check it's authenticity. I bought it when a little tiddly on impulse, had a panic in the morning but the guy seemed genuine on the phone. But as I can't nuke it from orbit, I need another way to be sure..

Also, It's bound to be to big for me so can I get it altered at a local jeweller or should I take it to a big posh shop?

Thanks guys.

That's retro, not vintage! Peoples carnt speeks properlies nowadaze.

You could take the back off to see how authentic it is. I am not sure I'd bother taking it to an AD to be adjusted. You'll pay the same again to have it adjusted. nuts

Looks good, cheap as well I use a local jeweller who is a member of the horological sociey which in my mind at least says he knows what he is doing.

Ask him to open the case to see if its ok, no reason to think its moody.
nice buy

Great, thanks guys. Yeah, the price seemed right for a daily. Although I have a feeling I will not be satisfied until I have something really special on my wrist.

Damn you lot, it's all your fault. Why can't you just stick to posting pictures of things like that hideous tiger stripe Rolex?? Then I would {b]hate[/b] expensive watches.

Mmmm. I am not sure how I've managed to resist blowing over £500 on some fancy jewellery that tells the time no better than a £20 Timex tbh.

You did very well there! I don't think you have anything to worry about in terms of authenticity.

Enjoy!

Go to the main Omega website and there is a vintage watch section, which you can register at and input the serial/case/movement number into the search engine and should bring back all the information about the watch.

Nice little Seamaster you have landed yourself there

Not to worry you but I once knew a bloke who seemed to make a living selling 'snide' watches on Ebay. Get it checked out.

Thanks for the replies. I'll get it checked on the website then post wrist shots - finally have a watch to do it. smile

Id say that it was vintage. If theyre your thing, then early seventies integrated bracelet watches can make very good buys. I quite like it, but then, Ive got a safe full of shabby old Omegas.....
