It started off just changing a bracelet for a leather strap. So, I bought a spring bar tool...and a NATO strap...And then a rubber strap.

Now I want to fiddle about and try taking a back off to replace a battery... And to resize my own bracelets.

I think I need a watch tool kit.
Are the 16 piece watch tool kits on ebay any good ?

where will it end ?

I bought one of the ebay kits last year. Reasonable quality and enough to do the basic things I need to do: resizing bracelets, changing straps, taking the case back off things occasionally.

I'm not sure it would be sufficient for a watchmaker though!!

A drawing pin and a pair of pliers. That's all that was needed to resize my newly acquired Orange Monster - jobs agudun.

Seen the ebay kits for around £10 - cheap and cheerful. Probably does the job.

Bought a screwback case removal tool from Maplins for £6.99 today. Does the job very well.

I bought this one from watch obsession http://www.watchobsession.co.uk/shop/suissetek-bra... as to whether its any better than the ebay kits I don't know but I'm pleased with it.

Coincidentally, I bought an Orange Monster last week as well. Watching the bracelet getting resized with the pin collars was the thing that triggered this thread !

Anyway, the kits are only 10 - 15 pounds so I think I'll get one.
Thanks for all the replies.
