I'm contemplating a new purchase.

Vacheron Constantin Overseas or JLC Master Compressor Chronograph.

Which would you pick and why? Price is not a concern.

Thanks!

For me the JLC Master Compressor Chronograph, i think it is great. I think that some may say the other as its a 'better' watch. But i love the JLC master its truly stunning.

Overseas. I love them both, but the Overseas seems much stronger and more rugged - not that a JLC would be flimsy, I'm sure!

Does it have to be a chrono? Patek Nautilus? AP Royal Oak? Blancpain Fifty Fathoms?

Not a fan of the Natilus. Thought about Royal Oak, but didn't like it as much. Blancpain is nice, but I like the JLC and VC better. It's a good but tough choice...

Yes it must be a bit of a pisser to be in that position!

You realise that by starting this thread you are now duty-bound to provide photos of your purchase...

Having just googled them both, and from looks alone, the JLC. Words fail me.

Prefer the looks of the VC.

The bracelet looks quite interesting!

yes
Agree entirely with this. I've tried on both and I thought the JLC didn't feel or look in any way inferior, quality-wise.

The Pam 00187 is a fantastic watch! If you already own one then your only choice is to compliment it with a JLC Rossi which is next on my purchase list beer

Own a panerai, but not that one specifically. I have a luminor marina. I'll have to think about the JLC Rossi. tough choices abound!

I like most JLCs but that Rossi wouldn't too a lot for me. Looks like a JLC manufactured by Hublot, if you see where I'm coming from...

Here is a wrist shot of the JLC EWC Rossi taken from another forum. And no, I can't see where you are coming from, looks nothing like a Hublot IMHO biggrin

I just think the gold case and inner bezel and the black pushers make it look a bit garish and over-blingy. I agree it's not exactly like a Hublot; what I meant was that if Hublot did manufacture JLCs, that's what I think they'd look like.

Mind you, if someone offered me a present of it, I'd be willing to reconsider! wink
