Took my watch off today to make sure I didn't damage it changing my discs and pads. Put the watch on the roof, changed the brakes, went for a test drive........

Thank God for insurance. Watch was/is an IWC Spitfire, worth about three times the price of my car....

Fingers crossed for a successful claim please. And yes, I know, I'm a stupid ****

Ouch. I feel your pain my friend. Here's hoping the insurance pay out well. Then it's new watch time smile

You noddy biggrin.

I've done that before. Once with a watch and once with a pair of sunglasses. I never did find them.

I also ( and please don't tell anyone else ) was once in a car with a pair of shoes that had been put on the roof just before setting off..............After some funny looks from a number of pedestrians we got out and, lo and behold, there they were, still on the roof, with a notepad to keep them company!!

"'Ello M8's newbie here, just been given a watch by my grandad, its called a IWC Spitfire, not sure if its worf much, but does have a bit of a ding in the side of the case, but apart from that it looks Gr8"

That will be your man

Sorry to hear your loss, bet you feel like kicking yourself.....

Ouch, hope it works out. I left a tent on the roof of a car and lost it once so I'm not going to take the p*ss!

Very good - actually I realised what I'd done almost immediately, and recovered the watch, complete with road rash. It's still working fine, but will have to go away for a new case at the very least. It was a 40th birthday present, I hope it's repairable as I'm very attached to it and I don't like the current model as much.

Back in the 70's father in law was a jobbing builder. He put £500 on the roof of the car, did a mile and came back to recover about £40 that hadn't been picked up! He was a bit more careful after that.

Easily done, you must have been gutted when you realised.

All the best and hope the claim goes through.

You couldn't make it up, that is on your side.

Next time, a piece of elastic tied round your wrist and attached to watch wink
