I just paid a tad under £400 for a crystal replacement and service (incl. changing the crown as it was slightly double threaded). So £500 looks a bit steep but maybe it's a rarer crystal or something else slightly unusual - I'd have thought about the £350 mark but not much cheaper. Mine was done by Rolex via a jewellers.
Joe,
Just spoke to Rolex in St.James Square, London. For a ladies bi-metal Date Just they quoted £240 for a service and £49.50 + VAT for a replacement glass, so in total that's just under £300. Depending on where you are based I would go direct to Rolex and avoid going through a dealer. I have done this in the past and their service is exceptional.
Speak to Rolex direct in St.James Square, London. tel: 020 7024 7300 and you can deal direct with them.
